About the NL

The Neurogenesis Laboratory (NL) is interested in the study of adult neurogenesis and brain repair. Using both in vitro and in vivo approaches, the NL group is investigating the mechanisms that regulate neural stem cell proliferation and differentiation with particular emphasis directed towards several disorders including neuroinflammatory conditions, such as epilepsy, stroke or neurodegenerative disorders. The NL unit is particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms of how post-injury neurogenesis occurs in the lesion micro-environment and in developing new ways to achieve efficient endogenous neurogenesis and/or successful survival and maturation of grafted new neurons.
