Title: “Taking the aging road to cancer: what can we learn from cell size and clonality?”
Abstract: Aging results from genetic, environmental and stochastic events increasing the risk for the development of age-related diseases such as cancer. The talk will cover how changes in B-cells size and levels of clonality during aging might go side by side contributing to cancer transformation. Moreover, proteome and transcriptome signatures from aged B-cells will be shown to be comparable to a B-cell cancer model.
About the speaker: Jose Pedro Castro is a postdoctoral fellow in Gladyshev lab at Harvard Medical School and recipient of a Max-Kade Foundation fellowship.
